Speaking of coming a long way, here's some great news out of the UK.I just saw this report on Paganism in England. Apparently over there it's spreading like nowhere else. They're even saying it's becoming a serious competitor against "traditional" religion:

That is because you are an unusually intelligent and erudite fellow, Makarios :) As with most things, it depends a great deal on how it is received. I try to be frank and forthright when I write; I don't go out of my way to offend, but I realize that what I say may have that unintended consequence. If so, that's because don't believe in pulling punches.

And thank you. I had an entirely different piece in mind originally; I was going to launch right into the issues, but when I saw everyone was going the direction of "this is who I am" I sat down and wrote up a new one.

I think we're off to a good start on P+P. I look forward to learning a few things and being introduced to some new viewpoints.

I run into a different crowd here than I do on Gods Own Party when I do a guest post there (less of a Pagan crowd) and likewise with NewsJunkiePost (mostly progressives with some conservatives come to fight). I have also become a full time writer for Politicus (www.politicususa.com) and my first piece there should be appearing any day now (they're doing some updating to the site).

Right now I'm looking at an article a week for both P+P and Politicus and I hope to write at least a couple a week for Heathen's Day with an article here and there for NJP as well.

I've read your introductory post (and those of the other bloggers who've posted there). Really looking forward to seeing what develops.

Re. your intro, by the way--from what I've read here and elsewhere, I wouldn't characterize you as "surly" (although I'd concur with the "serious" piece). Frank and forthright, yes, but not surly.

Again, looking forward to seeing your contributions "over there."

Thank you, Sorn. I don't foresee any difficulties in finding topics to address, and it will give a home to my more politically oriented religious posts. It is a great venue and I'm working with some very talented people.
