Changes
Don’t mind me…just playing around with the appearance of the blog, seeing what I can change without having to put up a whole new template. Sort of a precursor to getting into web development mode again with the coming change of seasons.

How nice to see a pagan Hebrew deity, sitting proudly on your blog's front page!
We almost never get to hear of converts to polytheism from Judaism, so the new pic on "A Heathen's Day" keeps the issue alive and burning.
Is it "Ashtoreth" or "Bal"? Looks like Bal. Hail! to him.
It's actually Thor. I took a photo of the statue and played with it a bit in Photoshop. It's certainly nothing spectacular art-wise, since I'm not all that skilled at Photoshop, but it was fun to do and it looks better than the photo I used
I have in the past thought of using images of various gods, just to be more cosmopolitan but I was afraid I'd simply confuse people. That said, I'm a big fan of Asherah and I would like to see Baal get some love. The smear campaign was all too effective. My greatest affinity for Bronze Age deities though is for the Hittite gods. I've always felt like they had a lot in common with the Norse.
So the Hittite gods are similar to the Norse ones. Could you post about the Hittite gods please? I'd love to read about them. My knowledge of them is very basic and I want to learn more.
I too am a fan of the Hittite civilization, because they have been described by anthropologists to be Indo-Europeans. Their capital city was in modern Turkey, which was formerly known as "Asia Minor". It was called "Hattushaash". I've seen photos of "The Lion's Gate" leading to Hattushaash and it is grand! I have this travel book on Turkey with me.
I have also read about the "Hattians", who came directly after the end of the Hittite civilization (or did the Hattians end the Hittite civilization? Not sure), and would love to read about their gods too.
I love the image of Thor! I thought it might be Freyr at first. Cool!
Hey – the Christian here knew that was Thor! WONDERFUL look to the blog Hraf – I changed mine around a few weeks ago too…I really like this on your blog! Your old blog look was really nice, but this I think is more in line with who and what you are! Blessing to you!
Thanks, Gran. Glad you like it.
Thanks, Cameron. I'm not done. I still need to change the sidebar background, etc but I agree, it's more "me" than the previous look was. And changing a template is a pain because you have to put all the data back into the sidebar when you're done and that's a lot of work. I decided to try to work within the template this time and I think that will work just fine. Plus I got to use one of my favorite pictures (used it on Mos Maiorum too), a sunset over the Badlands of South Dakota.
I THOUGHT I recognized that sunset from Mos Maiorum! Will look forward to further changes as you go! Mine is Walking the Labyrinth
( http://walkingthelabyrinth-cameron.blogspot.com/ ) I originally started out with a photo of Labyrinth, one (generic) culled from the internet. Last month I actually managed to get some pictures of me actually walking a Labyrinth…you can see this coming can't you? Used it for the blog! Makes me very happy! You rock, man! Will check back tonight and see what else you have done!
Thanks, Cameron. I just went to your blog and saw that picture. It's great. So much more meaningful and powerful than a stock photo.
I don't know how much more I'll tinker with the look of the blog today since my first goal is to write as much as possible, but rest assured, it will continue to change until I have it just like I want it
What template site do you use? I might know of some sites for blogspot templates that are really easy and don't require you to replace everything. Of course, they might not be as easy to personally tweak either.
The problem is, Gran, that the widgets get deleted and then you have to put all those back. Last time it took me several hours to record what those all were and in what order I had them, and then put them all back – links, etc. Replacing the theme is absurdly easy except for that part.
