@Gran, Joseph:

There has been a lot of feedback to that article but precious little response from its author, which I find a little surprising.

I have always argued that diversity is our strength. All our gods exist, and there is no doctrine or dogma to divide us. Each having their own gods and customs in no way divides us like it would equivalent groups of Christians. As scholar Jan Assmann says, polytheism is a means of translation between cultures. It trumps culture. Ergo, we don't need a single culture.

Joseph I'm curious as to the meaning of your comment. I have an idea but I'd prefer not to presume. Would you care to elaborate?

What a load of rubbish.

"All pagans need to adhere to my radical political beliefs."

Ptui.

I object to the premise of the article. I do not need a culture of "paganism" in order to thrive. I see that more as a luxury that would be nice, but not necessary to my faith and beliefs.

Even if others were to found a culture, I'm not sure I'd want any part of it. Being that modern followers of the gods are very diverse in their opinions, where would we even begin?

I'm in favor of more small groups having their own ways and traditions and that are autonomous from any structure or culture. Too big, too organized...too much doomed to be like monotheism in the West.

*two cents*
