Oh No, Not Another Project!
Yes, another project. This one is Pagan web templates. I have discovered, after many hours of searching, that there is virtually no such thing. A few people make their own, most of them not very good, and there is an equal lack of Pagan graphics. I’ve used templates made by other people so far, and modified them to suit my needs (a better way to learn CSS than reading a manual, I found!) and now I’m starting to make my own. It’s an interesting experience, doing all the CSS. I’ve used CSS before, but in smaller doses, usually just to control text effects, but I’ve never used it entirely, to control all the elements on a page. Through trial and error, a decent template is coming into being. It’s not great by any means, but I’m happy with it, and it’s more appealing than some of the free templates out there.
I don’t have a name for the project yet and haven’t made a page to host it but I hope to continue to refine my skills and to get a few (at least) Pagan-oriented web templates out there for use of people like me. I’ll try to find a use for the one I’m currently working on, and may even use it as the host site when I get some others to host, I don’t know yet… And this isn’t a priority so much as a practice exercise to further my skills with CSS. I’ve been amazed at some of the original ideas I’ve seen out there and I’d like to try some of them myself and figured I might as well put them to good use.
This may eventually lead to a redesign of the Mos Maiorum site, but not in the near future. I used more html than I had intended to but I was in a bit of a hurry to finish it, and I couldn’t get some of the CSS to do what I wanted it to (I’m sure it wasn’t the CSS!).
The Ancestral Traditions site is pretty much finished, and again, that’s a template I modified, one that I liked mostly because it was easy on the eyes and lent itself well to a zine. I’ll be looking for feedback on the design once it sees the light of day.
So it’s been a busy day, all and all. It even snowed a bit, which was nice, not that there ended up being much on the ground. It’s about 16 degrees now, so rather chilly, and I’m hoping for some more snow to brighten things up this weekend.

I still can’t figure out how get the templates from Falcon Hive.com to work.
I didn’t have any problem with this one…which one are you trying to use? I found him very helpful when I asked how to get my top menu back…his solution for the little pencil that allows me to click and edit my posts didn’t work, however.
